どこかのWEBにfirmware書き換えのソフトを送ってくれる、というようなことが書いてあったので、elecraftにメールしてみたら、「フロントパネルの代替を送るので、そちらで交換して、要らなくなったものを船便でも良いので返送してくれ！ 送料は返金するから」ということで、インストラクションも送られてきた。 KPA500もそうでしたが、制御関係のロジックをフロントパネルの後ろに纏めていますね。また、新しいパネルには60mの送信を禁止しているものであることの証明書もつけてくれるとのこと。
ついでに、「TSS通すときのアドバイスなど有れば」と書いておいたら、K3 JA Prod Arch rev B.pdfなるファイルを送ってくれた(左）。 中身はブロックダイヤグラムと、周波数表、それに何故かLOの回路図！ LOの回路図がなぜ要るのかは分からな いし、そんなものを要求されたという書き込みも見たことがなかったが、、。
Elecraftの対応には好感が持てた。特に英語に不安が無ければ、直接Elecraftに注文して購入した方が良いと思うが、EDCを経由しなければならない理由は何か有るんだろうか？
輸入代行だけで何のサービスもないのであれば、あまり意味が無いと思うが、、、。

Thank you for your patience. We have prepared a complete front panel assembly that will come complete with the band limits requested already installed in the Master Control Unit that is part of the front panel board. This means that you will only need to remove the entire front panel assembly and replace it with the assembly we are shipping you.
Please expect 7 to 10 business days for it to arrive.
In addition, the package will include a Certification Letter stating that your K3 serial number 8006 has had the appropriate frequency limits installed.

Many thanks for the details. Since the K3 was factory-built, we will be shipping a _complete_ Front Panel assembly rather than just the board itself. This will include all the boards mounted to it as well as all of the knobs and encoders as a complete unit.
All you will need to do is to remove the front panel and replace it with the one we ship you. You may return the old Front Panel assembly via the least expensive (and slowest) method available. We will be glad to apply a credit to your account here for the return shipping cost.

Once the side panel is off. Proceed:
Once the Front Panel assembly has been removed, please install the new Front Panel assembly in reverse order. Follow these steps to do so.
Next, be sure that all of the mating connectors do not have bent pins.
Ken, this procedure will keep us from having to have the entire K3 returned to the factory for reprogramming.
